“Social” Networking…..Interesting
Okay — I must admit that term through me for loop when I first heard it. I thought it meant being “social” – going out, meeting people, sharing conversation, creating relationships, etc. I suppose I’m a bit “old-school” in not understanding it right away. I am quickly catching on to the new lingo and technology and now know that “social networking” is all of the above except “going out.” In keeping with the ever changing ways of the world I can now be found on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In and a variety of others. (See my links below if you’d like to become my friend.)
I am now working on time management processes around this social networking as it can be easy to get distracted and lose lots of time poking around these sites. While I am learning the benefits of these online tools, this still does not replace “going out” and in person connections. I believe we all have to be careful to create and maintain relationships away from our computers.
